Kawasaki Mule™ 4x4 All Terrain Vehicles for People and Cargo

Cars & Transportation As we all know a growing number of English speaking expatriates are moving to Panama. Many are deciding to settle down in some of the more remote areas of the country, either near the beach, up in the mountains, or on a large tract of land as a ranch or farm. People are increasing choosing the Kawasaki Mule™ as a means of transportation in remote areas. A Mule™ from Kawasaki is a hardy all terrain vehicle that come in two seat or four seat models. Some are like a mini pick-up truck and are ideal for transporting construction materials. There are 2x4 and 4x4 models with either gas or diesel engines. A Mule™ has superior power, handling, suspension, traction, and comfort compared to something like a golf cart, and many people are using them to go to the corner store or get from their land to the closest beach. They have safety features such as seat-belts, roll-bars and cages to protect passengers. The Consultenos car dealership (Audi and Volkswagen) located on Tumba Muerto in Panama City is the authorized distributor for Kawasaki in Panama and they carry a full line of Mules™ to help you get where you need to go.

Transformable utility vehicle provides exceptional performance: The Kawasaki Mule™ 3010 Trans4x4™, recipient of the 2006 American Hunter Vehicle of the Year Award, is the world’s most unique off-road utility vehicle. It is the first to give the driver the ability to transform - a four-passenger 4x4 to a two-passenger 4x4 with an extended cargo bed with a few quick adjustments. The operator can fold down the rear bench seat and extend the cargo bed farther forward to increase payload capacity. When the operator wants to transform it back to a four-passenger vehicle, the same quick adjustments are made in reverse order.

The wheelbase of the Mule 3010 Trans4x4 is 11.6 inches longer than that of the Mule 3010 4x4, but features the same styling, car-like controls, dashboard and front under-hood storage. Additional body features for the Trans4x4 include retractable rear seat belts and padded rear-passenger grab handles.

The Mule 3010 Trans4x4 utility vehicle utilizes the same durable and reliable powertrain as the Mule 3010 4x4. The quiet, liquid-cooled industrial V-twin engine has a proven record for hard-working reliability and is matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The CVT is fine-tuned for the Trans4x4’s higher passenger and cargo capacity, and features high and low range, plus reverse. The driver can also select either two- or four-wheel drive operation, with power being transferred to a shaft-driven dual-mode rear differential and limited-slip front differential.

One of the benefits of the Mule 3010 Trans4x4’s extended chassis is its ability to carry an extra gallon of fuel. Combined with a heavy duty DeDion/leaf spring rear suspension system, it has a cargo capacity of 400 pounds in four-passenger mode, and 800 pounds with the cargo bed extended forward. Plus, the Trans4x4 can tow up to 1,200 pounds with an optional towing hitch.

Two or Four Passengers: The rear bench seat on this model can be folded down to increase cargo carrying capacity.

Other chassis features include smooth-riding MacPherson strut front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, which helps to make steering light and accurate.

Braking power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting drum brakes that are sealed to protect fm water, mud and other debris, and 23-inch tires provide a comfortable ride and maximum traction over a variety of surfaces.

The Kawasaki Mule™ 610 4x4 was the first utility vehicle in the compact class to provide the driver with selectable four-wheel drive. In addition to its rugged off-road capability, the Mule 610 fits in the back of a full-size pickup truck, making it easier to transport it to work or recreation sites.

The Mule™ 610 4x4 features a single-cylinder engine matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and features a dual-mode rear differential, independent front suspension, swing-frame rear suspension and sealed hydraulic brakes.

The spacious cab features curved body panels and a large-diameter steel tube frame to give the Mule™ 610 4x4 a clean, modern look, while automotive-type controls and gear selectors are within easy reach on the dash. Luxury features include two large cup holders, a passenger-side glove box, passenger-side grab handle and storage space located beneath the hood.

For many utility vehicle owners, the engine is the most enticing feature of the Mule™ 610 4x4. The air-cooled, single-cylinder four-stroke engine displaces 401cc and accelerates with authority, and includes a cooling fan to help it maintain an ideal operating temperature. Equally important, the engine features an enrichening system that partially opens the throttle during starting, thereby eliminating the need to apply the throttle. It also features a 25 mph maximum speed governor.

The Mule™ 610 4x4 transfers its power through the CVT, which features durable materials in the converter and a long-lasting drive belt to match the engine’s acceleration and hill-climbing performance. With its high and low range forward gears, plus reverse, the sturdy transmission can be started in any gear, provided the brakes are applied.

The Mule™ 610 4x4 utilizes dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive and features a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction on adverse terrain. It also includes selectable four-wheel drive and features a limited-slip front differential.

The Mule™ 610 4x4 rides on MacPherson strut front suspension, while rear suspension duties are handled by a unit swing-axle. Triple-sealed hydraulic drum brakes at all four wheels provide ample stopping power, and large 24-inch tires provide improved off-road handling. A plastic front differential/axle guard and steel rear differential guard are standard, helping to protect important powertrain components.

To light the way in darkness, the Mule™ 610 4x4 features the same 35w gourd-style headlights as the Kawasaki Brute Force™ 750 4x4i all-terrain vehicle.

Kawasaki engineers know that hauling and towing are the two most common tasks for any Mule utility vehicle, so they designed the Mule™ 610 4x4 to carry 400 pounds in its tilting cargo bed. It also features tailgate latches that are easy to fasten quickly and securely. Plus, it can tow up to 1,100 pounds with an optional towing hitch.

The Mule™ 3000 - Kawasaki’s Full-Size Two-wheel drive industrial-grade utility vehicle

The pioneer in industrial-grade utility vehicles

The Mule™ 3000 is Kawasaki’s full-size two-wheel drive industrial-grade utility vehicle, featuring a more powerful engine with more cargo and towing capacity than the compact Mule 600 series. And like all Mule utility vehicles, it features an industrial liquid-cooled engine, automatic transmission, locking rear differential and a tilting cargo bed.

The Mule 3000 utility vehicle has aggressive styling and a rugged bumper with rounded fenders. The body panels of the cab are made of durable, color-infused plastic to help hide scuffing, and the front hood of the Mule 3000 can be lifted with the touch of a button to reveal a large storage space, which also has convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Located beneath the front grille are winch-ready tabs for easy winch mounting, and a passenger-side grab rail is mounted on the cab frame. Plus, two lever latches make opening and closing the tailgate easy.

In addition to light and accurate rack-and-pinion steering, the easy-to-operate controls on the Mule 3000 are ergonomically located for comfort and convenience. The forward/reverse shift lever is located within easy reach on the dash, the coolant temperature warning light is easy to see, and a push-button control activates headlights. Additional features include an hour meter, fuel gauge and horn.

A liquid-cooled four-stroke V-twin engine provides power for the Mule 3000 and features an air restrictor gauge to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced. Plus, the fuse box and oil dipstick are located underneath the seat for easy access.

The Mule 3000 utilizes a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to provide a wide operating range for abundant pulling power and quick acceleration. Dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive transfers power to a dual-mode differential that can be locked to maximize rear-wheel traction, or unlocked to minimize ground disturbance when making tight turns.

The chassis of the Mule 3000 features MacPherson strut front suspension for a smooth, comfortable ride. On the rear, the DeDion rear leaf-spring suspension is designed to carry heavy loads, yet provides a smooth ride when the cargo box is empty. Self-adjusting hydraulic drum brakes at all four wheels provides progressive stopping power, and 23-inch tires provide maximum traction for a variety of surfaces.

Mules are perfect for expats who wish to explore.
